Jewellery Cabinet

This stunning jewellery cabinet has three large drawers with a 'secret' drawer cleverly concealed in the sliding base. The sides, pull out base, lid and drawer frames are all constructed from cherry. The drawers are decorated with burr maple veneer while the small handles and side splines are of purple heart. The lid has a flower inlay surrounded by a tulipwood band set in a mahogany veneer.

The salient feature of this special jewellery box is the joinery. It shows complex double dovetail joints and unique handmade wooden hinges. Specially routed feet add to its elegance.

The two removable trays for small pieces of jewellery (rings, etc.) are highlighted by a mirror set in the lid.

Woods used were South American Mahogany and English Sycamore.

Finger joint document display case

This unique document case features a flower inlay inset in a veneer of lacewood on a mahogany surround. It opens on double hinges so that documents can be easily displayed.

Woods used are English Sycamore for the box with Mahogany for the lid and base.

This 'oriental' box is modelled on the simplicity of Japanese design. The box sides are embedded in four cornerposts while the sloping lid consists of 13-millimetre lengths of wood separated by four-millimetre strips of a contrasting colour. The 'lift off' for the lid is set on ascending steps.

Woods used are English Sycamore and Purple Heart from the Amazon region.

Size : 175 x 130 x 100mm.

The elegance of the cornerpost dovetail set off by raised feet and wooden hinges makes this jewellery box a very special gift.

Woods used were English Sycamore for the box with West African Sapele trim and lid surround. The lid panel is veneered in burr elm.

Double double finger joint box

A four-millimetre trim around each of the finger joints gives an impression of intricate inlay work in these visually pleasing joints.

Woods used were Parana Pine (commonly known as Monkey Puzzle tree) for the box with West African Sapele and English Sycamore for the trim. For the lid two sections of Parana Pine were divided by a 13-millimetre band of Sapele trimmed by two four-millimetre bands of Sycamore.
